SNOW

Harbin was beautiful, everywhere was covered with snow. Solid, packed snow that wasn’t melting any time soon. HAHA. It was averaging around -20 degrees most of the time. Insanely cold I swear. I had one thin shirt, one wooly long john, one knitted sweater and one winter coat on the top, wooly long john pants and wind-proof, water-proof, super awesome pants that I think I can trek a mountain with. HAHAHA. But anyway, I still felt cold. Haha. Even wooly socks and my trusty Doc Martens were not enough. My toes felt on the verge to getting a frostbite. Any fingers left exposed would have froze and dropped off. I was covered from head to toe, only leaving my eyes exposed. I looked like an idiot!!

I think I’ve experienced extreme cold winter conditions and it shall be my last. HAHA. I had enough. We got to see pretty snow and ice sculptures but my favourite sight is still snow on christmas trees. I think that’s beautiful enough.

Justin’s favourite has got to be the tigers we saw. SO MANYYYYYY. Hundreds I think. There was this spot where they were all lying around and crows were circling. It seriously looked like a scene from a zombie or ‘the world is coming to an end’ movie. HAHAHA.

Saint Sophia’s Church was pretty too. Gorgeous architecture.

 

SO ANYWAY!

Exams are finally over! We skimmed through Human Resources the day before the exam, the paper went fine. Then we skimmed through Corporate Finance & Investment in a day too. HAHA. Those papers were less ideal, but ah well. We’re just hoping to pass. So glad they’re over.

I’m currently nursing a flu and cough from Harbin. I must get well before I can enjoy my last few days here. Gotta hand over the keys to our apartments and stay in a hotel for about 3 nights. But it’s all cool, I found a perfect one next to the shopping district. HAHAHA. Last-minute shopping and sight-seeing & I’ll be back! SATURDAY, 15th JAN, 610pm. I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE MY FAMILY AND FRIENDSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. & THE NICE WARM SUN!

 

LOTS & LOTS OF LOVE from the one who hasn’t worn shorts, skirts & dresses in AGES.

I finally got to see the proposed designs for the new place. Pretty impressive. However, it’s still my responsibility (which I gladly accepted) to return back to Singapore and pick all the materials and finalise the designs. We’re all getting customised wardrobes with built-in features!  Haha, I shall share it.

1. My room

I love the wardrobe and the white walls.

I’ve been planning and envisioning my new room for ages, since I found out we’re moving. For the past few months, even though I was here in China, busy exploring, I still found time at night to skim through various interior design websites and IKEA catalogues to come up some ideas. Justin has been listening to me dream and insist on certain items I MUST have. He’s been patient, haha, absolutely accommodating with me.

e) White IKEA table with a notice board right on top

j) IKEA pillows (they have the cutest and prettiest pillows!)

k) Ring & Jewellery boxes (to be placed on top of the red chest of drawers, wanted a customised accessories cupboard, but I figured that would cost a bomb, so I settled for gorgeous boxes. &&& I’m definitely going to upload photos of my pretty boxes soon! Once more of my accessories get delivered, so I can put them inside!)

2. Guest Bedroom

I love the 10 ft wardrobe they’re planning to build in. It’s awesome with the huge mirror.

3. Brother’s Bedroom

Haha, his wardrobe isn’t very nice. Note to self: must choose a nicer material and colour of his wardrobe. I don’t really know why he’s getting himself a queen size bed. He’s so skinny! Ah well. Still feel that his walls should be grey, or a dark navy blue. Or some texture.

4. Common Bathroom

I love the bathroom design! Black matt tiles like I insisted to my mum.

5. Living Room

Firstly, what’s with the boring grey scale theme all over the house? Haha, I hope it’s this way because he’s expecting me to pick the colours when I’m back. Secondly, WHY IS THERE A MAHJONG TABLE INSTEAD OF A DINING TABLE?! HAHA. I’m definitely picturing more of a long white/black table, with a bench on one side, and normal chairs on the other.

More colours in the living room, and definitely one of those seats-that-are-storage-for-shoes-below-with-cushion-on-top near the door for us to wear shoes before we leave the house. Plus a bar counter for my dad!

6. Master Bedroom

I love the wardrobe once again! It’s massive, but practical since my mum has so much clothes, bags and accessories.

Their bathroom’s design is consistent to the common one. Good!

I’m glad my parents are allowing me to make the final decision about the place. I hope it turns out beautiful. I’m so excited to return home and brainstorm more and do up the place till it’s perfect. Exciting months ahead! Friends, be prepared, I’ll end up bringing you furniture shopping while we’re hanging out. HAHA.

I hope to upload photos of my new place when it’s done. Will be a few more months till then, most probably April!

PARTYYYYYY

The party turned out awesome. 3 pizzas from Pizza Hut, 3 family feasts from KFC, 2 ducks Lulu shipped from Hangzhou plus vodka, rum and whisky, we got the girls from our class very high and almost drunk. Played Beer Pong and Heart Attack. HAHA. It turned out so much fun.

Webcammed with my family today too. They’re having a family (plus extended) party at home. I miss home. It felt very good seeing them.

Merry Christmas!! My favourite holiday of the year.

I really really really thought I’ll be having a white christmas this year, but sadly, Beijing has disappointed me. Out of all the years to not snow in December, it picked this year. Haha. Tragic. Apparently, this is very very rare for Beijing, haven’t happened in 20 years or so.

Even so, the water on the streets have turned into ice. HAHA. It is about -13 degrees today. Ah well. Let’s just hope it will snow before the year ends. At least I’ll have a white new year?

I don’t wanna put too much hope into it, don’t wanna get disappointed again. This christmas feels less jolly, maybe I just need to be back home. With my family & with my friends. I mean, I love Justin, he’s the sweetest. But something just feels missing.

Christmas Manicure

This is definitely my favourite manicure here in Beijing. FAVOURITE! It’s so prettyyy!

Haha, anyway, had lunch with Lulu & 小4 today. Then Justin & I went to get me a pretty manicure and christmas decorations for our party this coming saturday. Got myself a reindeer headband and santa hats! SO SO EXCITING!!! WOOHOOOOOOO. CHRISTMAS IS COMING! I hope it snows on like christmas day, that would be absolutely perfect. Haha.

Damn, I just wish we didn’t have to start studying for our exams. It’s dampening my christmas spirits.

One week to study a whole semester of class we barely attended for 3 modules, after which, a trip to harbin and back to beijing for exams. Good luck to Justin & me. Good luck. HAHA. We just want to pass. LET US PASS PLEASEEEEEE.

Wish List

Due to the fact that hardly anyone knows about this space, I shall write myself a wish list this christmas without much shame. HAHA.That also means they wouldn’t come true. Christmas cards

I spent the afternoon, doing up the christmas cards, with my back leaning on his, with my right hand holding the card and my left hand drawing. Not much of a table space here for me to draw. Tragic. Such is life. Haha, on the plus side, I hope to deliver the cards by christmas!
